Investigating Electrolysis Of Copper Sulphate Introduction I will be investigating the electrolysis of copper sulphate. I will be doing this to find how much the mass of a copper electrode will change over a period of 40 minutes. I am going to weigh the copper electrode every 4 minutes. I am going to keep these factors the same: · The voltage will stay at 4 volts · The current will stay at 0.7 amps I am going to change: · Time, this is to establish how much copper is deposited over a period of time. The equipment I am going to use to make sure my results are more accurate: · Ammeter – To make sure the current stays the same · Stopwatch – To keep track of time during each 4 minute period. · Scales – This is so the measurement of weight is more precise. · Hairdryer – This is so I can dry the electrode before measuring without knocking of any copper that has gathered on the electrode. Prediction’s I predict that over the 40 minute time period the weight of the negative electrode will increase. This will be because of the copper deposited on the electrode......
