The Kite Runner Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

The Kite Runner written by Khaled Hosseini has 371 pages. It is a very informative and interesting novel. Although the book is long, it is very challenging to put down. This well written novel encourages reading as every page is filled with Afghani culture. The book opens with the introduction of the main character, Amir, who is the son of a wealthy man named Baba, together they live in a grand house in Kabul, Afghanistan. They have two servants, one who is the same age as Amir, named Hassen, and his dad. Hassen and Amir are really good friends, even though they are from different classes of society. There is a yearly kite flying tournament and Amir won, and Hassen runs to get the last, most cherished kite for Amir. “For you a thousand times over!” (Hosseini 67). When Amir goes to try and find Hassen, he witnesses Hassen getting raped in a small alley. As they grow up, Amir is continually bothered by the fact that he never does anything or tells anyone about what he saw. One day Hassen and his dad decided to leave and work for someone else. A few years later, Baba and Amir move ......
