Vegetarians believe the slaughter of 6.7 million animals each year is extremely unnecessary, because billions of vegetables are grown, world wide, each year. Vegetarianism has been seen as being unhealthy and a cause for disease for years. Studies from all over the world have shown signs of vegetarians being healthier than meat eaters. Swedish studies have shown that vegetarians were significantly lighter than non-vegetarians by approximately 46-48%. They also had a lower chance of many fatal diseases such as: cancers, diabetes, and obesity. Incidentally vegetarianism has been around since about 2000 BC. Nearly three centuries later Boston Common becomes known as the center of vegetarianism in the new country. Three main areas of consideration about vegetarianism are whether or not it is healthy, the reasons to eat vegetarian, and how does vegetarianism affect young people.
A major concern about vegetarianism is whether or not it is healthy. The facts are simply as long as one eats a balanced diet there can be a significant number of diseases seen in vegetarians.......
