The main reasons for the Soviet Armys successes from Stalingrad on was One, that the Russian campaign was beyond the German militarys logistical ability to achieve, and the German economy to sustain. Two, the resulting battle of attrition gave the Soviet military the advantage. Lastly, the German military experienced devastating losses among their elite troops.
The vastness of the Soviet Union has been a major factor of defeat with all who have ever attempted to conquer it. The German military was no exception, focusing on too many objectives at once instead of concentrating their strength on one strategically important objective at a time , thus they soon found themselves stretched in both man power and resources well beyond their ability to sustain. This strategic blunder kept the advancing German military from having the much needed supplies of food, ammunition, and proper uniforms .
