Measures to increase the farmers income put forward by the New Deal resorted from Woodrow Wilsons farm credit acts. By setting the stage with Herbert Hoovers Agricultural Marketing Act, further development was due. Similar to Wilsons farm credits, the New Deal initiated the Agricultural Adjustment Act to control economic planning and offer subsidies to farmers who limited production to keep prices from dropping.
