Throughout this essay I will be focusing on the statement, how might the knowledge of models of stress and coping assist in nursing care. I will firstly start by giving a brief description of stress and the affects it can have on the individual. I will then be exploring and researching different concepts of stress and coping theories. I will be basing my research around the hypothesis that stress is directly related to illness. I will also be exploring how relevant stress models are, within the nursing professional and how knowledge of stress can benefit nurses in the delivery of effective patient care.
