Marketing Mix Phyllis Yates MKT421 Hannah Worley October 14, 2006 Marketing Mix This paper will describe the four elements of the marketing mix (product, place, price, and promotion) and how each element is implemented within SCA and how the four elements relate to SCA’s marketing strategy. In addition, this paper will give information on the marketing avenues that SCA makes use of and the effectiveness of these avenues. Some people think that the four Ps are old fashionable and propose a new paradigm: The four Cs! Product becomes customer needs; Place becomes convenience, price is replaced by cost to the user, promotion becomes communication. It looks like a joke but the Cs is more customer-oriented (New Biz Advisor, 2006). Product A good product makes its marketing by itself because it gives benefits to the customer. Product is the good or service for the targets needs (McCarthy & Pereault, 2004). If a competitors product offers the same benefits, same quality, and same price.
