When thinking of the necessities of clothing, the majority of people immediately think of underwear. Those that dont - probably do not wear them to begin with. Everyone at one time or another has more than likely heard or thought Bring extra underwear. I have never encountered a time where I needed the extra, but I still do it. Some of us find ourselves possessed with buying under garments, some are happy with it, and the rest are just the I will buy it when I need it type. When I purchase underwear, I tend to be the needs driven consumer, so I cannot relate to the idea of an advertisement for underwear. In an effort to correct that, and satisfy my academic needs, I chose two underwear ads from different companies to analyze thoroughly. I was surprised to find that these two companies chose to appeal to the characteristics of the consumer, rather than rely on the quality of the product.
