Waiting to Exhale “Waiting to Exhale” is a drama about four African-American women, who were “sistuhs” trying to make it in this crazy world we live in. The director of this movie was Forest Whitaker. This movie explores the friendship between four women played by Whitney Houston, Angela Bassett, Lela Rochon, and Loretta Devine. All these women struggled in their relationships with men. Though the movie was primarily about African-American women it can easily be related to by all races of women because we all have our up and downs in life. We have all been disappointed by someone. In the beginning of the movie Savannah, played by Whitney Houston, was moving from Denver to Phoenix where her three friends Bernadine, played by Angela Bassett, Robin, played by Lela Rochon, and Gloria, played by Loretta Devine, lived. Each of the women had their own things going on in their lives, but still made time for each other. Savannah has never been married. Her mother is always pressuring her to get with a man that is already married because he keeps telling her that he’s going to ......
