Was Hamlet really mad or was it just an act? Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

Over the last two class periods we have been watching the film Hamlet. At first I really wasn’t interested in watching it, but after the first day of watching it I knew I couldn’t miss a class. In a part of the movie he states that he is going to “act” mad so he can get revenge for his father’s death. Throughout the play I kept watching Hamlet’s reaction to certain things in the play, for example his fathers death, Claudius’s reign as the new king, and Ophelia’s death. Then after watching a little bit more and just thinking to myself the question came up, Is Hamlet truly mad or is it just an act? At the beginning of the movie Hamlet’s father dies and right after that Gertrude remarries to Claudius which is Hamlet’s uncle. As you move further along in the movie you Hamlet meets with the Ghost of King Hamlet, which tells him that he was murdered by Claudius from poison poured in his ear. After they are finished meeting you can see the anger in Hamlet. He is completely outraged with the fact that his uncle who is now the king killed Hamlet’s father. He is also very ang......
