In 1984, George Orwell uses telescreens, Thoughtcrime and the Big Brother to express the theme of abuse of power.
George Orwell uses telescreens to construct the feelings that the characters are never alone. Characters wake up with them, work with them, and finish their day with them. Telescreens keep a close eye on citizens of Oceania and make sure they are living up to their (the Brotherhood) standards. These so-called telescreens support abusive power because nobody is entitles to his or her privacy. If somebody was cheating or going against the Brotherhood they would be tortured. What kind of justice is that?
