In the Greek myth, Icarus flew by means of wings made of feathers waxed to a frame work; despite the warning of his father, Icarus soared too near the sun, the wax melted, and he plunged to his death. His death was predicted when he starts showing his arrogance by thinking he can control the right height for the sun and his waxed wings. In the book Dr.Faustus, we can see another example of depravity caused by one¡¯s arrogance. Faustus was well-respected scholar who speaks different kinds of languages and is proficient in Physics and Medical science. However, he leads himself to corruption by making a deal with devil. This deal not only growth his arrogance, but also makes him an evil person.
Dr. Faustus believes that he has mastered everything in the world except black magic.
