German Background Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report
Just like many other Europeans, Germans came to North America ever since it was founded and settled by the French and English. There were very many different reasons why people left their homelands in Europe to come over to America. The price of freedom was cheap, and worth the hard traveled road to get there. For reasons from religion to revolutions, Europeans were trying to find a safe place to practice their own religion, to call their own home, and to make peace with their old horrible lives. This would explain all of our European ethnicities and backgrounds.
My ethnic background is mostly German, and my last name Frueauf means early to rise. The Frueaufs came to the United States because of the unsafe rise in violence in Germany during the World War years. They came over for freedoms, and to get receive jobs with better environments. Hard back-breaking work was given to the Germans in Germany without proper equipment and took a lot of time to complete assignments. In the United States however, the Germans could do the same type of work with equipment making the jobs easi......
