Movement skills that are required to play soccer
Agility: It is crucial to have agility in soccer, to chase down the opponent, dodge the opponent, and get in places where the ball is going to be passed or put in a position (a set up) to make it easy to strike an easy shot at a goal; all this couldnt be done without agility.
The Box Drill helps to improve Agility in soccer
1. Use 4 cones or markers to mark out a square approximately 5yards by 5yards.
2. Place a cone in the center of the square. This is your starting position.
3. Give each corner a number and remember it! Have a team mate (or your coach) call numbers at random.
4. Sprint to the corner shouted and return to the middle.
Coordination: Coordination is vital as well in soccer, without coordination, there is no ball control, or dribbling skills. Your feet needs to be coordinated to be able to kick, dribble, pass, change direction of the ball, header the ball and to catch the ball as Goal Keeper.
