The Deaths of Romeo and Juliet Romeo and Juliet, a play written by William Shakespeare is about two young lovers who will go through anything to be together. The play which is set in Verona, Italy in the early 1600’s focuses on the characters Romeo and Juliet and all the obstacles they face in the name of love. The purpose of this paper is to show that Romeo and Juliet’s parents, Romeo and Juliet themselves, and Human Error were all factors that caused the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. One of the main factors of the deaths of Romeo and Juliet were their parents. For example, the Capulets were very strict over their only daughter Juliet. Lord Capulet yells, “I tell thee what – get thee to church a’ Thursday or never after look me in the face,” (3.3.162-163). This quote shows Juliet was not allowed to marry who she pleased; she was to marry who her father wanted her to marry or she would be disowned.
