Specific purpose: To inform my audience about some of the things I experienced and felt
during my deployment to Camp Liberty, Iraq.

B. I learned it and many other Arabic words during my deployment to Operation Iraqi Freedom from August 2005 to July 2006
2. The same word- Salaam- can be used to mean both hello and goodbye.
A. This is just one of the many things I learned while in Iraq.
3. I learned about the culture, my job, about the war effort from a new perspective and about myself.
( Transition: Let me share with you some of the cultural information that I retained.)

1. The biggest thing I learned about the culture was that it is just as diverse in its religious beliefs and its people as the United States.
A. I met people there from Iraq, India, and the Philippines.
