comparing and contrasting the New England and Southern colonies Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

The thirteen colonies were split into three different groups: the Southern Colonies, the New England Colonies, and the Middle Colonies. Each group was settled for different reasons the two I would like to compare is the New England Colonies and the Southern Colonies. These two colonies have their similarities and their difference. Such things that have these are their motivations for starting the colonies, the economic reasons, and political ideals. The motivations for their establishing the colonies had many similarities. One of the first similarities was the motivation of a religious refuge for those from England. The southern colony was Maryland and it was created for a refuge for the Catholics from the protestant England. The New England colony known for the religious refuge was Massachusetts and their refuge for the separatists who went from England to Holland and then to the New World.
