In the essay, Where I Lived and What I Lived For, written by Henry David Thoreau, there are many quotes that can be used to relate to specific lifestyles of many people. One quote that caught my attention was, I say, let your affairs be as two or three, and not a hundred or a thousand; instead of a million count half a dozen, and keep your accounts on your thumbnail. This quote relates to my life in many ways. The meaning of the quote is that people should not overwhelm themselves with a great number of tasks. Instead, people should focus on a few things in life which would allow more time to achieve the tasks, and excel in those goals.
