Love is defined as an ineffable feeling of attraction and affection toward another person, and it is highly more than just liking or desiring somebody. Do you know what it feels like to be in love, or have you ever been in love? Many people would respond “yes” to this question, but the truth is that love is such a complicated and strong feeling, that many do not realize that they have never even been even slightly close to love. The novel, “The Great Gatsby”, has much to deal with love. In fact, almost everything in the story revolves around love, especially Gatsby’s goal and the fulfillment of his dream. Throughout the whole story, Gatsby lives and does everything in his power for Daisy to love him. Many people debate that Daisy never did love Gatsby, but others choose to differ. The author of “The Great Gatsby”, F. Scott Fitzgerald, substantiates that Daisy really did love Gatsby because she admitted that she loved him herself, she shed tears for him, and she took risks in order to be with him.
