Jimmy porter, rebel or misfit?? (look back in anger) Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report
The Novel introduces us with the three main characters of Alison, Jimmy and Cliff. These three people are living together in a one room flat, as you can imagine the space they have is vast and as the novel contrasts in act one, things get a little heated between the characters in their working class environment. This is the theme of the novel and I will be talking about how their thoughts progress around jimmy to guide my opinion towards whether the main character Jimmy Porter is more of a misfit or a rebel.
From the title you can see how its not distinctively clear whether Jimmy is a rebel or a misfit and its not shown that there is a right answer or not, all opinion based with explanation and this is where I can clearly show how I believe Jimmy is stuck firmly in the middle of these two meaningful words. Jimmy goes through act 1 and we start to get to know him better through his actions, he shows hardly any love towards Alison even thought they are married and he seems to allow Cliff, his best friend to get very close to his own wife! We gradually start to see his annoying side ......
