The Road Not Taken Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report
In this poem The Road Not Taken Robert Frost, the speaker, is trying to make a decision about which path of life he should take. He is looking down each path thinking to himself that neither road is less traveled, but he can only take one road. The speaker thinks to himself that he will just go down one road and come back to the same set of woods later and go down the other road. Yet in his subconscious thoughts he knows he will never be back to take the other road. This is a real life situation everybody encounters. There comes a point in everyones life where he or she has to pick a path to go down which could affect a persons life positively or negatively.
In stanzas one and two Frost is describing the speaker standing in the woods analyzing each path to determine which one would be the better choice. As he stand looking down each path until he cant see any more, he realized that each path is worn exactly the same. This in essence made his decision a very difficult one. He is thinking that he would take the path less traveled on, maybe in hope of a better way ......
