The article I read was a very sad story about a man named David Reimer who eventually ended up committing suicide due to a trying life experience. David Reimer was born a boy, but raised as a girl. He was born in Winnipeg as a twin, in the summer of 1965. Within six months both he and his brother had trouble urinating, so the doctor recommended circumcision. Janet, his mother dropped her twin sons off for what was supposed to be a routine procedure, but the doctors chose an unconventional way of performing the circumcision. The doctor that performed the procedure in which the skin would be burned, the method went terribly wrong and Bruce (David) was burned beyond repair. The Reimer’s went to many different doctors but no one could offer a solution, one day his Mother was watching TV and an American doctor was telling about his theory that “If boys- caught early enough-could be raised to be girls. Nurture and not nature determines a child’s gender.” The doctor’s name was John Money of Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. This is where the experiment starts; in my opinion......
