A Look on the Cultural and Social Norms of Wuthering Heights Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report
In Emily Brontes Wuthering Heights, many different cultural norms were addressed. The history of the novel, beginning in the late 18th century and early 19th century, displayed social norms and acceptable behaviors for the time. The setting for the story is of two establishments separated by a moor extending for several miles. In these two establishments, were groups of people that were all, in one way or another, related to each other. This relation was created either by marriage, blood, friendship, or sometimes even more than one of these factors. Each relationship was established by a connection through societal or cultural relations. These relations are based on a set of norms that the author presents to the reader in order to help the reader have a better understanding of the novel.
