The Awakening Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report
In the movie awakenings the two main characters are Leonard and Doctor Sayer. These two characters were both middle aged men, but completely different in physical traits. Leonard was frozen due to the fact that he had Cephalitis. This happened to him when he was a little boy and kept him from doing absolutely anything.
Dr. Sayer is a very caring man, although he does not like to believe so, he truly is. He tries to find a cure for all of the patients with the disease Cephalitis. Dr. Sayer us extremely determined to do whatever it takes to get his patients out of the frozen state of mind. Although, not many people believe in him in the beginning, they are all surprised with the results they see from the prescription of L-Dopa.
Dr. Sayer saw shocking results from the prescription he prescribed to all the patients. He believed it was a miracle, the Dr. First Prescribed it to Leonard. Leonard was quickly out of his frozen state, and into a normal one. Leonard said it felt as if it was a long dream he couldnt wake up from.
