Starbucks in Vietnam In 1971, three partners started the first ever Starbucks. The store was located in Seattle, the owners were Jerry Baldwin, Zev Siegel, and Gordon Bowker. The three of them had a vision of selling high-quality coffee bean and equipment. At first, the owners purchased their beans from Alfred Peet, whom they knew personally and was inspired by Peet to open the coffee shop, then began to buy directly from the growers. (Starbucks) Howard Schultz, an entrepreneur who joined the team Starbucks in 1982, offered new ideas that the company should sell coffee and espresso drinks in addition to just coffee beans. The original owners rejected the idea of selling coffee and espresso drinks because they have a mind set that coffee should be brewed inside a person’s home. Little did they knew that there were a huge market for coffee drinkers, especially the on-the-go Americans who would pay, and quite often, coffee in the morning or as a matter of fact, any time of the day. Howard Schultz then started his own line of coffee shops, became very successful with the new busin......
