Era of Good Feelings Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report
In 1815, after the War of 1812 the United States went into the Era of Good Feelings. Although the Missouri Compromise and the American System were beginning thoughts of sectionalism, the period was dominated by a feeling of nationalism. The feeling of patriotism was spread through political nationalism, expansion nationalism, and cultural nationalism. Political nationalism led to a feeling of unity and oneness without an opposing political party. The speedy expansion of the country showed that the United States was a solid country with credibility. Cultural nationalism gave Americans an identity and a true American culture. These factors all lead to the feeling of nationalism controlling the period.
Political nationalism greatly contributed to the nationalistic thoughts during the Era of Good Feelings.
