Waking up in my room of blinding lime green walls I think about what lies ahead of me for the day; the little league district final game. I can smell the succulent smell of pig fat being fried in the kitchen as my mother prepares a hearty pre-game meal for me. A hard day of bruises and ice cream awaits. After a good breakfast I make my way to the deep green complex of Kelloggs Woods Park, the location of Kelloggsville Little League baseball fields. While sitting in the dirty dugout overflowing with stale sunflower seed shells and old crushed Gatorade bottles, I begin to lace up my shredded spikes. Making my way into the thick, uncared for outfield, still damp from the morning dew, I fill my mouth with tantalizing grape Big League Chew. Grape always makes my mouth water like a dog on a hot summer day. I sit down and begin to stretch out my tired muscles. With a damp bottom, from the cold morning dew, I lean forward over outstretched legs in a little discomfort.
