In order to become a physical therapist, one must gladly be willing to help those in need or just have the desire to help people. There are three different positions in this job to choose from. The first is a Physical Therapy Aide, the next position up is a Physical Therapy Assistant and finally there is the Physical Therapist. One will learn what each of these professionals do, how much money they earn, the problems they face and how to achieve all of these professions.
In order to become a Physical Therapist Aide, a high school diploma is needed. Employers will always look for those who have an associates degree so most Physical Therapist Aides earn their associates before entering practice. Students must complete a few classes in health science. After that a Physical Therapist will teach the aides hands on skills like proper wheelchair usage, proper transfer from bed to wheelchair and back and clerical work.
