All of the time people can be heard saying that actions speak louder than words-youve most probably heard it plenty of times before as action is an extremely powerful term and can be used with a much more greater affect than any single word or phrase. It is estimated that anything up to 90% of meaning comes not from the words we use, but through the way we say words and express ourselves- this is known as non-verbal communication (NVC). Non-verbal communication can be divided into three different aspects, body language, appearance and no-verbal aspects of speech. Without any recognition we use NVC everyday in our general conversation; when trying to explain something easier, to create emphasis and attracting someone and/or something i.e. someone of the opposite sex. We can learn a lot about a person; their attitudes and personality just by focusing on their individual NVC, which therefore suggests that we can get more involved with the person, understanding them much more clearly where by sharing their emotions and feelings.
