A series took the network by storm, and although it has not had the top Nelson ratings, it has begun a cult classic phenomenon that has changed the way many have viewed television shows since. Third generation writer Joss Whedon took his own production company, Mutant Enemy, and created an empire based on one woman . . . killing vampires. Buffy the Vampire Slayer has enriched the lives of many people around the world and has helped unite people in ways unimagined. Our story begins in a town called Sunnydale, a typical California city with a mall, near a beach, and abundance of vampires. What makes Sunnydale different then other towns in the United States is it set upon what early Spanish settlers call “Boca de Inferno” or Hellmouth. This nexus of supernatural evil draws beings of unspeakable terror to its center, creating a melting pot of demons, vampires, and the forces of darkness. Enter our hero, or should I say heroine.
