The Dimensions of the Titanic are described below: Length-882ft and 5 inches Beam- 92ft and 5 inches Height-60ft and 5 inches (water line to boat deck) Weight-46,328 tons The Titanic set out on its maiden voyage April 10, 1912 with Edward John Smith as its captain. The Titanic could carry almost 2,300 people and only 705 of them survived. The reasons why the boat sank were because it hit an iceberg. The brush against the iceberg created a total of six leaks in the first five watertight compartments. The fifth compartment was breached for only 10-15 feet. The Unsinkable Molly Brown One of the most notable and famous passenger was Molly Brown. A child of Irish immigrants, Molly was a women’s rights activist that boarded the ship in hope of returning home to check on her ill grandson. Not knowing that the she would soon face her fate, she booked the first ship she could find. When the ship collided with the iceberg and began to sink, she helped many others to the lifeboats before being forced into one herself. Once in the water, she and the other women in lifebo......
