Child Labor has been around in many different forms sense the beginning of time but it wasnt until the Industrial Revolution that it became such a big problem as it is today. When the factory system in the 18th century was first introduced to everyone, Children as young as 5years old were being used as workers. In response to this a law was created called, the English Poor Act. This gave the government a way to protect and care for children that had no parents or whose parents were too poor to care for them. Under this law, the government would take these children and place them in jobs where they could become apprentices and learn something instead of just working because of their poor conditions.
