Every company desires to achieve their goals with a high-performance team; after all, the productivity of a high performance team will increase the value of the organization. But creating a high-performance team within any organization can be a challenge. The team members must all be willing to share ideas, learn to work effectively with each other, and listen and respond constructively (Schermerhorn, Hunt, & Osborn, 2005, pg.220) to others to achieve their goals. The benefits of having a team that is committed and motivated to work together to accomplish the same goals will bring value to the organization. This paper will explore ways that a group can become a high-performance team and look into some of the positive and negative effects that demographic characteristics and cultural diversity have on a high-performance team.
