The American Nightmare
In todays world it seems that people will stop at nothing just so they can achieve the American Dream. These people want the fast cars to take them from their important jobs to their million dollar mansions, and with their gorgeous wives waiting for them with a nice dinner on the table. It doesnt matter how they are able to achieve this dream as long as they are living it. The only problem is that someone could become so manipulated by this specific dream, the American dream, that they will sacrifice and risk their entire lives in order to achieve it, and in the end they not only fall short of that American dream they wanted so badly, but they then find themselves in a worse situation than they were in before.
In the story, Requiem for a Dream, Huber Selby Jr. follows the life of Sara and Harry Goldfarb, Marion Silver, and Tyrone C. Love, and how each one of these characters dedicate their lives in order to achieve their own dream. In the beginning of the story, each of the characters had ......
