Gatsby's Trip Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

In the summer of 1922, Jay Gatsby is the central figure of Nick’s life. Jay lives right beside him and is a good friend of his. As their friendship develops, Nick is asked a favour to reunite Jay with Daisy, Nick’s cousin who Nick had recently met. Soon discovered, Daisy and Gatsby had a romantic relationship prior to Daisy’s current husband. Gatsby tries to reclaim Daisy as his, but fails in the end due to many complications. Gatsby’s demise is consequential of his desire for Daisy and their past. Gatsby’s root of his demise was when Daisy first left him because he was poor and of low status. Gatsby thus attempts to impress Daisy with his new wealth that he obtained illegally. Gatsby has blind ambitions, which have led him to focus on Daisy alone to the point where he takes no consideration for his own life. Jay Gatsby dwells in a large mansion right beside Nick. When Nick was asked to reunite Gatsby with Daisy, he had done so as a good friend. Gatsby was too focused on impressing Daisy thus abandoning everything else in his life.
