The Versailles Treaty was an agreement which Germany had to sign after world war one. The aim of this treaty was to blame Germany for starting the war and punishing them. This treaty was made by the three allied leaders Britain, France and the united states. There were 27 nations present at the Versailles conference which was held at the Versailles palace in France, Paris. All three allied leaders had different views to punishing Germany. Firstly the French president Clemenceau wanted to treat Germany harshly for all the damage caused to there country and all the money spent on the war but on the other hand the United states president Wilson wanted for there to be peace so that they wouldn’t have to get involved in European affairs and also to set up a league of nations so that other countries wouldn’t be threatened by aggression. The British prime minister Lloyd George didn’t want the Germans to be punished because this may lead to communism which was known as the disease from the east.
