The Problem
This case study involves real work time scenario faced by me while working as production manager in Al-Abid Textile. The company is a leader in home textile segment and manufactures export quality products for its clients in Europe and USA. It has different group of workers like weavers, dyers, casual workers, packaging and managerial staff.
To meet its client expectations in quality and production levels the management planned to achieve its goal with a two pronged strategy. It planned to mechanize its production process by the introduction of new weaving machines and conveyor belt. The management also planned to raise production level, achieve smooth transition to new work processes by encouraging and motivating its employees through performance related bonus.
