Aerobic Vs. Anaerobic Exercise I think that everyone should be involved either in a sport or an aerobic exercise activity for at least five days out of the week. But, you want to do some aerobic exercise but you don’t know what it is. In this essay I will explain to you what aerobics is, the cardiovascular benefits of aerobic activites, additional benefits of aerobic exercise, and I will explain the aerobic curve. So, what exactally is aerobics? Aerobics is using the same large muscle group, rhythmically, for a period of fifteen to twenty minutes or longer while maintaing 60-80% of your maximum heart rate. Think of aerobic activity as being long in duration yet low in intensity. Some activites include: walking, biking, jogging, swimming, aerobic classes and cross-country skiing. Anaerobic activity is short in duration and high in intensity. This is the exact opposite of aerobic activities. Anaerobic activites inclue: racquetball, downhill skiing, weight lifting, sprinting, softball, soccer and football. Aerobic means with air or oxygen. You should be able to carry on a short c......
