Kudler Fine Foods is a local upscale specialty food store located in San Diego. The company currently has three locations: La Jolla, Del Mar and Encinitas. In order to affectively manage three specialty food stores the organization must know how to manage people and resources efficiently to accomplish organizational goals (Ch. 1, Gomez-Mejia & Belkin, 2002).
At Kudler Fine Foods management has been divided between three levels: Strategic managers such as the President Kathy Kudler and her three directors, Harvey Stephens, Yvonne Reynolds and Brenda Wagner. As senior executives they have overall responsibility for the firm. Next are the three individual Store Managers, Kent Vesper, Laurie Priest and Juanita Lopez. They are responsible for implementing the directives of the Strategic Managers (Ch.1). Lastly are the operational Managers, these are the Department Managers with the bakery, produce, meat and dairy departments.
