Girl and Mirror
In life there are many times when we look in the mirror and dislike the figure we see reflected in front of us. The Mirror, like in a well-known poem by Sylvia Plath, is our true friend and will only show us our true selves. In the song Mirror Mirror by M2M, the girl in the song is going through a phase similar to the woman in Sylvias poem; both unhappy with their reflection. The only difference between the girl and the woman is that, the girl in the song Mirror Mirror is unhappy with how she looks internally. She dislikes the girl who she sees in front of her for having said and done things that now she regrets, for because of this she has lost her true love.
The song starts with the girl talking to the Mirror, and telling it to lie to her. In the first stanza we get the image of a girl imploring to the Mirror to lie to her and show her what she wants to see. The girl is pleading the Mirror to lie to her by consecutively repeat those fraises. Throughout the whole song, the Mirror is a recurring symbol. It stands for a ref......
