Abstract
The emphasis about sexual awareness is so important to the youth of this day. It is important that we open the communication line and share with them the facts about sex, being responsible, with emphasis on abstinence. Most teenagers have experience some form of sexual encounter; these experiences because of a lack of education is risky and can alter that individual life due to the choice that they had made. My goal is to present a fact friendly forum to the Social Skills Class on Myths, Facts about Sex, Sexually Transmitted Disease and the AIDS epidemic.
When dealing with young adults it is important to pull them in and make them apart of the learning experience. This session will also go into detail about STDs, statistics on sexually active teenagers, communicating with adults and a short 15-minute video on Teen AIDS in focus, The Kenwood Group, 1989 VAH013. In collaborating with Planned Parenthood, we will also have two young adults who will do a mock testimony about living with AIDS. The emphasis about AIDS awareness is the keynote to this discussion.
