Misleading Advertising Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

Advertising through magazines, newspapers, and televison is essential for most companies to get their product out to the public. The companies marketing depends primarily on these types of advertisements to enforce that their products are better or more sufficient than the competitors. Although, sometimes the advertisements can be a little or even sometime a lot misleading. After reading through several magazines, I have found that there are more deceiving advertisements than I actually thought. The first ad I came to that caught my attention was promoting the use of a skin care product called PURPOSE. It is suggesting that the use of this product will “take control over red, irritated skin”.Not only does this article not tell how effective this product is, it also does not tell what kind of skin types it is right for, therefore insinuating that is right for all types. The ad also displays a beautiful woman, as if she had been using the product, making the viewers think that by using the product one will become as beautiful as she is.
