SKELLIG: IS IT WORTH IT? Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

Is Skellig a suitable read for young adults? On reading the book, Skellig, I exposed many reasons as on why it is an admirable plot. The author, David Almond, created fantastic works of art with his words using effects such as symbolism, imagery, and allusions. Most of the characters were captivating and unique in their own distinctive way that helped the book be additionally more diverse to help relate to a reader’s life and/or way of the thinking. Almond, through his astonishing words, acknowledged his use of language to be able to convey a certain message and educational words with a twist of entertainment to keep the reader paying attention. Almond’s book is a fine work of language and art for showing vocabulary for the appropriate reader—the young adult. He uses slang of the specific culture, but adds words that could charm the reader into getting out that dictionary. He uses words such as archaeopteryx (a human and bird), to interest the reader in what it is. The book also emphasis the use of symbolism; for example, the garage being destroyed near the end of the book.......
