The Jungle is about a Lithuanian immigrant family that hears word of the American dream and travel overseas to pursue it. From the very beginning the family is swindled and cheated by conmen and corrupt business owners. They go through many hard times until eventually the entire family falls apart. In the end the father of the family stumbles in on a socialist party meeting and hears something that changes his life. He hears that in socialism the community brings together the means of production and in socialism the government actually cares for the people and there is equality among men.
