High voltage pulsed stimulation or also called HVPS is a versatile form of electrical stimulation and has a variety of uses. It is defined as the use of an electrical current that transfers energy to tissue (2005). Its current type is a monophonic and has amplitude from 0-500 mA RMS. It can have a voltage all the way up to 500v. The pulse frequency can arrange anywhere from 1 all the way up to 13msec, while the duration phase is anywhere from 20-45 msec. It has three wavelength forms. The first wavelength is a saw tooth form, at pulse to wavelength is an M-wave form, and the third wavelength form is a square wave. There are several ways to output this modularly can be a duty cycle, electrode alternating rate, electrode balance, intensity, polarity, probe electrode, or a surge/ramp.
