The topic I chose to write about was topic number one which was to Compare and Contrast the American Revolution and the French Revolution. In addition tell whether or not they were both a true revolution based on the definition of revolution in the past lesson. According to the lesson a true revolution would have to have to following four points. A weak central government, a union of upset people being governed, an overthrow of the original government by the people being governed, and finally a radical change in the government. If the American Revolution and the French revolution have these four points then they are definitely a true revolution.
To begin with the American Revolution began on April 19, 1775 and ended eight years later on September 3, 1783, when the treaty of Paris happened (Virginia Fowler).
