Grandmothers Farm
One of my favorite places to go when I was a kid was my Grandmothers farm in Magee Mississippi. Once a year my brother and I would go to stay with our grandmother for three weeks. Our mother would always bring us there on the first week of June. It would take 2 hours to get there from our house in Vicksburg, so we would always leave early in the morning so that we would miss the morning traffic. My brother and I were happier than kids at Toys R Us when we left for our Grandmother's house.
I remember waking up in the mornings and smelling eggs and steak cooking. The smell was so powerful that it could wake the dead. We would wake up and run down the stairs faster than the Road Runner from the Bugs Bunny cartoons. Me and my brother would fight over who would get the first plate of food, and since I was as big as big foot, my brother never had a chance. After we got done eating we would wash the dishes. The first time we washed the dishes we over-flowed the kitchen sink, and the water on the kitchen floor made it slipper than ice in the middle of Decemb......
