Lorraine Hansberrys A Raisin in the Sun and I, Too by Langston Hughes possess several related aspects that send a familiar message. Both works of literature depict the lives of African Americans in the early 1900s. The play and poem describe struggles faced by these Americans and introduce the idea that conditions will change in the future. The characters, symbols, and tone in I, Too and A Raisin in the Sun contain noticeable similarities. Each element helps to portray the dream of potentially different lives and the changes that may take place.
