Frankenstein Distortion Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

Distortion In the novel by Mary Shelley, Frankenstein, we see how the effectiveness of the distortion, on the monster, created by Victor Frankenstein achieves the goal Mary Shelley is trying to prove to the reader. The exaggeration Mary Shelley uses in the novel helps to portrait the true identity of humans where everyone to a certain point is ignorant, have a need for love and affection, and has basic emotions. At the beginning of the novel, Victor Frankenstein gives life to a big creature of distorted proportions compared to a standard human being. Once Victor realizes the monster he has created, it horrifies him and goes to another room trying to sleep. But when he cannot take it anymore he leaves the apartment to walk in the middle of the night. When he comes back the monster is no where to be seen. The creature is left alone to take care of himself and “one day, when oppressed by cold, he found a fire [and …] overcome with delight” he put his hand in the fire, but quickly drew it out again (119).
