The civil war
The civil war is the most unavoidable war in the history of the United States because of the things that lead up to it. The civil war was a war between the slave states and the Free states. The biggest reason to me that started the war was the presidential election of 1860 in which a northern republican won, Abraham Lincoln, and took control of the nation as a whole. The second biggest reason was the succession of the southern state to form the confederate states of America. The last but not least is the division of the nation, the term together we stand and divided we fall is put in to use. Those are the main reasons the civil war could never be avoided.
My first reason was because Abraham Lincoln, a northerner, won the presidential election of 1860. He was neither for slavery nor against it but he didnt have the same perspective of slavery as the northerners or the southerners. He instead told people at the republican convention that he was going to halt slavery as with a chain of steel as he put it. He also went and reassured with the southerners that a rep......
